Windows is having trouble installing an update for Windows Defender. Now,
every time I try to shutdown, it says there is an update to install. I've
had to leave my computer on all night for two nights and each morning the
computer is off but the update failed to install as reported in my
WindowsUpdate.log file. Last night I tried waiting for it to shut down, but
after 20 minutes it was still cycling between the update install message and
the message warning me not to turn power off, so I left it on overnight. I
also tried using the Windows Update website to install it but it also
reported that the Windows Defender update failed to install.
How do I fix this problem and get my computer to shutdown properly?
Thanks,
Roy
