Window control icons not entirely visible upon maximize

Brand-new XP Pro machine. When I maximize any window, the title bar seems to
overrun the window, making the "X" icon in the upper-right corner invisible
(or, more correctly, I just can't see it, as if it's gone over the edge of
the desktop). I have no idea why this happens, as it didn't on my previous
XP machine, nor on my office XP Pro machine.

Adjust the horizontal and vertical size and position. That's a monitor
adjustment, not related to XP or the computer.
