I want to be able to see my window contents while i am
using the mouse to move a window. i went into the display
properties and then the effects tab and clicked on the
display window contents while dragging, hit ok and then
it worked. but after i do that and reboot or shut down it
goes back to the outline, how do i fix that?

also, my status bar in IE 6 is constantly going away

Wakko,

Tried reinstalling/updating the video card drivers?

Wakko,

Open Registry Editor [regedit.exe] and go to this location:

NOTE: Backup the registry keys before modifying. Use the File > Export option to backup the key.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
Set NoSaveSettings value to 0. Repeat the same for this key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

Restart Windows. Change the option again [show window contents...] and see if the setting sticks upon reboots.

For the status bar issue:

Open Windows Explorer drive > View > Status bar
Click Tools > Folder Options > View >Apply to all folders
