Hi,
IE6/OE6.
Good morning!
I hope someone can help me with this rather annoying problem I have.
For the last few days I have been experiencing *Windows* popping up all over my screen. (Start, notepad,.. amongst many others). I lose complete use of the mouse and I have to reset the computer in order to stop this happening. This occurs no matter what I am doing at the time, and whether the comp has been on for a long time, or not.
No virus detected on the machine, anti-virus software updated, all microsoft updates in place, ran spybot and adaware ... nothing found.
TIA.
Anne.

You should update Spybot and Adaware if you haven't. You can also try Winpatrol free
here http://www.winpatrol.com/winpatrolplus.html. Look at your running processes when this is happening to see if there are any unwanted items. Crtl=Alt+Del then click Processes.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Thanks for replying, everything is updated, and nothing is running that need not be.
I cannot access anything at all when this happens, I have no mouse facility.
All I CAN do is reset the computer.
Thanks for trying to help, though, it is appreciated.
Anne.

From past experience, the problem tends to be related to the hardware itself! check that
the mouse is connected to the machine properly, or if possible, try plugging another mouse into the machine!
Failing that try removing the device in device manager and rebooting, letting the machine install the drivers for
the mouse again!
