To whom it may concern,

I currently run a Window 2000 Professional Chinese
version, few weeks ago I went in to regional selection
area and selected Canada, consequently the Chinese Window
system text somehow has been eliminated from the system,
what can one do to retore the system?

I don't think the fonts were eliminated. You just customized the system
from default settings, so you need to understand what you're changing to get
what you want -- the system can no longer assume you only use one language
and do things automatically for you.

There are several language-dependent displays in Windows that are mostly
independent of each other, allowing you to pick-and-choose the combination
as you please. UI-elements, date/time/currency, input language, and
font-display are things that can be changed indepently of each other.

- You have a Chinese version of the OS, meaning the UI-elements are
hard-coded to use Chinese characters (so the "Start" button is written in
Chinese, for example).
- Regional selection affects the date/time/currency display (so the clock on
the Task bar says AM/PM in Chinese).
- Input language affects whether you can enter characters in Chinese (a
variety of input mechanisms).
- Font display affects whether you can display characters encoded in
Chinese. This is the hardest to get correct since you need to match up both
the font and the character encoding correctly to display Chinese characters.
For example, the bytes "12 34" may represent a Chinese character, but if you
use the wrong font, you just see "12 34" instead of the Chinese character.

You did not describe what exactly is wrong with your system, so I really
cannot give anything more specific.
