John

I took my PC out the of domain and into a workgroup. At
the same time I changed the computer name. I have
rebooted but the administrator passwords will not work or
the local user password. Is there any way to sign on or
do I have to reload the machine.

If you know the local Administrators password you can login again. Else
you'll have to connect the machine to the domain where it belongs and ask
the systemadministrator to rejoin it for you.

Hi folks,

I did the same thing as John this morning trying to set up a peer to peer network for my brother. Any way to bypass the Win 2000 log-in so I can rejoin the domain and close thje connection to the workgroup? The other PC on the network is XP Home OS.

Marina,

I can't login to the machine, no of the passwords work.
Is there a way to bypass the login screen in Windows 2000.
