Hello,

I am new to this community newsgroup and I am looking for
some help. Recently my Internet explorer version 6 will not
open at all! It only pops up with a window that says:
Internet Explorer has encounter a problem and needs to
close...etc

The error report contains the error signature:

AppName: iexplore.exe and the modname: windc32.dll

I have tried to unistall internet explorer, yet the exe
file: iexplore.exe is nowhere on my hard drive!

It's frustrating b/c i can't use windows update, and i
don't have access to any of my bookmarks.

I would really appreciate any help!

Thanks,

It's been about a week when my Internet Explorer's problem
similar below has started. The status is still the same
despite these attempts: Un-installed/re-installed
IE6,Scanned with Norton Antivirus, contacted DELL which
suggested I reinstalled my Operating System(XP via Window
XP Service Package 1 reboot disc),I've even contacted my
ISP(RoadRunner(cable)), thus far with no luck. Please
provide any helpfull informations if you can. Thank you in
advance.

WINDC32.DLL is not a valid Windows file. Check your system for
"hijackware":

You *must* seek updates for Ad-Aware, Spybot, etc., before each and every
use, even "right out of the box". But even then, they can't catch
everything. When all else fails, HijackThis
(http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
your files to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily. There are some nasties out there which actually
disable your anti-virus application's "auto-protect" though it appears to
you that it's fully functional, complete with automatic updates. Try
scanning the system using at least two (2) of the free online scans which
follow; each will require ActiveX to be enabled:
