I got the windows update for windows 2000, like many on
this forum. Needless to say my computer acted very very
slowly. I tried several ways to contact Microsoft and
there was a very, very, very long wait on the phone, so I
gave up on that one.
I also tried to get support through their internet support
and I got a message saying that I had to pay 99.00,
another way to squeeze money out of us. I did not want to
pay cause this is THEIR mistake.
I wish I did not have to use Microsoft products because of
their autocracy. There is not an easy way of getting help
from them. GRRRRR.....

I got free technician support because I downloaded a
Windows Update patch that caused problems. Tell them the
problem in more detail and you don't have to pay for help
with Windows Update.

As for the phone, you just have to pick the right time.
4:30pm never makes me hold for more than 10 minutes.

Firstly you don't have to use Microsoft software. There
are other software companies out there and secondly
everytime I've phoned Microsoft they have been very
helpful. Even if they don't solve the problem or even
contribute much they do try.

Perhaps you should explain your problems a little more if
you want help.

You are such a Microsoft supporter. It makes me wonder if
they pay your bills. It's great you have all the time in
the world to find out what specific time is the best to
call them.
Anyway, thanks for your reply.

Microsoft Supporter? LOL! And no, they don't pay my bills
however if you can convince them to, that'd be very much
appreciated :)

Actually, I have probably called them at about 3 different
times when needing support. This just happens to be the
best one.

Anyway, your original problem: is patch 835732 causing
problems? If it is the one, you should uninstall it in
safe mode and things should be a bit faster (they were for
me anyway).

GO MICROSOFT!
