Prolly not new; just curious how often mentioned.

I finally called Winbook CS Since fall it locks with flashing cursor
on Restart. Uuplug/replug cord/batt, and starts fine. I noticed it
after getting SP2 for XP, but didn't necessarily blame that.

Surprise, tho not to you all who have seen it! Winbook knew my
complaint before I said it!:) Yep, I guess SP2 did it...something
about a BIOS change needed.

Anyway, who knew this. Guess I should have paid more attn to this
group.

Because notebook pc's are so customized & have special drivers, etc... It is always a must for notebook users to always first check with manufacturer's technical support to see (1) if the service pack is recommended or not, and (2) if a BIOS update is required.

It may also be possible that the BIOS update from manufacturer was published well before SP2 came out.

Good point. I'll remember that. Thanks.
