Winamp has released version 5 full and version 5 lite. I just played with
it for an hour or so and I must say that the features in this version are
awsome...check it out ....availible for download at:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2490.html

I found the playback on the beta version stuttery when connecting to the
Internet or when working with a lot of windows/software, whereas JetAudio
didn't do this. Does the final release of Winamp 5 have this problem?

I wouldn't touch WinAmp if you paid me

Yet you won't divulge why?

Simple...... it's a big bunch of bloated, resource hungry cr_p

I know I'm probably wrong, I just like taking part ;o)

I guess Nullsoft is getting smart and releasing a package with extra
features for $15. Why waste money on that when you can get the following
free programs.
CD ripping: CDex
CD Burning: CD Burner XP Pro (something like that)

I guess Winamp decided to try to make money off of its popularity but I
think they did this a little too late, and probably wouldn't make as
much money if they done this a while back when there were fewer players
on the market.

That's what was fixed in Version 5. The resource (and other)
problems were major with Version 3, which is why the code was
basically tossed out and a new version created.
