Win9x client resolution problem on 2000 domain

Hello all

I have a small network running 2 Dell PE 4600 Servers both
are DC's and are identical in configuration and services
running, they are also both members in a cluster. All was
running fine until we had on of the servers crash badly.
I spent a day trying to restore form Backup Exec. Like
usual that did not work properly. I decided to just start
from scratch. After re-establishing the server and promo
to DC with the same name and configuration. All seemed to
run well, except now Win9x clients on the network seem to
have trouble seeing this server and other computers on the
network. Sometimes it will appear in network neighborhood
and sometimes there will be several of minutes of
the 'flashlight' scanning for this computer and other
computers on the network. this only happens with the 9x
clients. XP or 2000 pro clients seem unaffected.
This server was also acting as a print server for half
the building. For some reason after setting up the
printers in the server and sharing the 9x clients would
not connect to these printers. some 9x clients would
eventuall find the shared printers and install them,
however they would always appear ofline and could not be
brought online. Printers setup from 2000/XP computers
worked like normal and had no problems.

I disabling WINS on this server and let the other server
handle WINS alone. this did not help.

I also tried a DNS flush -- this did not help

Any Ideas on this problem?????

Let the server do WINS. Got options 003, 006, 015, 044 and 046 (0x8) set in
DHCP-server?
Does the ipconfig/all from the client show that all is pointing to your
server-IP?
