I have 2 win98SE machines sharing an internet connection with a netgear
router. They both used to work, but now one of them will not access the
net. When I look at ‘attached devices’ in the router, I see the correct
IP and MAC address for both machines. When I do an ‘winipcfg’ I see the
same thing on both machines (different IP addresses of course). What
goes on? I even downloaded the latest D-link drivers for the machine
that is having trouble and installed them. Same behaviour.
Any suggestions? I can go buy another NIC card, but I don’t see how
this will help since the card seems to be recognized and connected to
the router at low-level. However, I can not ping anything.
TIA
