when windows is not properly shutdown, scandisk scans.
There is a way to disable this when windows is not
properly shut down

I am trying to find this command
 
Hi,

Sure, start/run msconfig and on the general tab click advanced, there is an
option here to disable that behavior. I do not, however, encourage you to do
this, as you need to address the cause of the improper shutdown before the
drive is permanently damaged and all your data is lost.
