I have my win98 desktop connected to my router and my xp
laptop has a wireless card. I can see and access files
and printer on the win98 from the laptop but not the other
way around. TCP/IP is installed on both machines.
Any ideas??

Most common cause is ICF on the XP PC; disable it forever since
it does inhibit F&P sharing.

If ICF is not the culprit, then check that TCP/IP is the only
protocol on both PCs, and the NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on
both, and that F&P sharing is enabled and that some non-root
folder is shared, and that Client For N$nets is enabled on both.

Remove all firewall and antivirus apps on both PCs while chasing
this problem.

It is best if DHCP serving is enabled on the router and that both
PCs are set up as DHCP clients; that ensures that both PCs will
be in the same IP subnet.
