Can I not choose where to install xp on an upgrade? Or is
that only an option if i choose an empty partition and
some sort of boot manager?
Thanks

Choose the default "Upgrade" setup option if you wish to upgrade
over a current Windows installation. Only choose "New Installation"
if you have an empty partition or drive and wish to create a dual-boot
configuration. Do not select "New Installation" and install Windows XP
on the same partition as your current Windows installation.

Thanks but I asked if the upgrade could be redirected
like to D: instead of C: .
Ok I'll procede.
