Using FP 2002 with Windows98, I cannot authenticate to a
website. Yet, using a friend's laptop with Win2000 and
FP2002, I can authenticate and access the site just fine.
Test w/Win2000 used the same dial-up connection, and the
Win2000 computer could provide UserID and Password to get
into site. When using Win98 computer, same UserID and
Password, cannot authenticate nor get direct access to
site.

Are there any known conflicts with Win98? Both computers
using IE6.0 SP1 also.

Obvious solution: upgrade Win98 box to Win2000 or Win XP
Pro.

Otherwise, as a wild psychic guess, you may neeed to
install the full Microsoft Networking client on the Win 98
box. This is the client you would need to log into an NT4
or Active Directory domain.

It may also be that you need to have the remote site
configured to accept Basic, as well as Windows,
authentication.
