Hi,

I have a problem I was hoping to get some help with. A
few times a week I will be working away on my Win98 pc
and then I will lose my connection to the network. I can
log into the domain as any other user on that pc but
mine. If I go to the server and reset my password(which
is set to never expire) or recreate my user account then
I can login fine again from that pc or any pc. Does
anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Got WINS installed on the server? W98 still needs that. Also options 044 and
046 (0x8) in DHCP-manager, Scope options.
Does the winipcfg show that everything is pointing to the server-IP?

Can you show a link where it says Win98 needs WINS? Never heard that before.
.. . Always used it, but never thought it was required.

And Ken, try deleting any .PWL files on your system. They are password
caching files that can cause problems if its not disabled in the registry.
Also, are you using profiles on that PC? Try disabling them & see if that
helps.

It really is needed by W9x, ME and NT4. Have a look at 185786 for example.
