Hi

My son's running Jedi Outcast. He needs to set the Win98 compatibility
on to get the game running but evn though it runs, every 10 seconds the
game hangs and then continues.

I've no idea what could cause this. If you run the game native on Win98,
there's no problem

Are there further tweaks in XP that can be made?

Thanks

Simon

Hello.

Are you running with the latest patch?
http://support.lucasarts.com/patches/jedioutcast2.htm make sure you've got
that installed. The game itself shouldn't need compatibility mode, it was
written with Windows XP in mind. What happens when you try and run it
without compatibility mode?

First thing I'd try is disabling other background applications, virus
scanners etc can often cause major issues with performance. To make sure
everything non-essential is shut down press CTRL+ALT+DEL which will bring up
the task manager, clicking on the processes tab will show the programs
currently running on the system. You can then shut them down by clicking on
them and clicking end process (make sure any unsaved data has been saved).
ONLY shut down applications that are running under your user name, not
system or services.

If you could also post your hardware specs that would be useful (a how-to
can be found at http://windows.dasmirnov.net/guides/hardware.php)
