Hello guys
in my network in the company
we have some clients have Windows 98 on thier computers and some have
Windows 2000 and some have XP Pro
ofcourse all clients can access the win98 machines
but when some clients want to access some shares on my XP Pro computer
they got a message which tell them that my computer is not accessible
i enable the guest account
and remove all entries from Local Security Policy | Deny Log On
Locally
and also add them in the Log On Locally also
and they have an accounts in my users
but they still cannot access me computer
any help please
thanks

Is the XP machine formatted with NTFS? Win98 can't understand NTFS in a peer to peer environemnt, only in a client server environement.

Still not a correct statement.

Some clients? Does that mean that some can and some cannot? If so you need
to examine what the logon and network settings are on the clients who can
access your system and do the same for the ones who cannot.

Ah I guess your right, its only if the 9x/me installation is on the same computer that it cant access an ntfs drive... someone convinced me otherwise once upon a time... Sorry!

The reason you are confused is the reference to the Log on locally right in
the original post. If user rights are involved in this at all, it would be
Access this computer over the network.
