Fred,
The following upgrade paths for Windows 2000 are supported:
Microsoft Windows 95/Microsoft Windows 98/Microsoft Windows
98 Second Edition
Windows 2000 Professional Retail (Full) Version
Windows 2000 Professional Upgrade Version
This information is detail in 232039 Windows 2000 Upgrade Paths
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=232039.
As for the download of Windows 2000 Professional, there is not a version
available from Microsoft that can be downloaded and installed. You would
need to acquire either an upgrade or full version retail CD to complete
your task.
Thanks,
Jeff Wade [MS]
