Hi
I'm using eTrust antivirus which today informed me that
C:\WINDOWS\EXTENSIONMGR.EXE is Win32.Netcruz trojan.
and dealt with it. Fine so far.
I "googled" to find out what the Win32.Netcruz trojan was and found nothing.
Symantec nor CA searches gave me anything on Netcruz either
Anybody here got any info on this little sucker.
Ted

Thanks Karel,
The warning/statement produced after a full AV scan was
C:\WINDOWS\EXTENSIONMGR.EXE is Win32.Netcruz trojan. Not restored.
It wasn't identified by the real time activity of the eTrust AV.
I believe the software renames the offending file during the scan and the
renamed file is removed at the next reboot. I use Kazaa and usually remove
it afterwards. I use Lavasoft to remove most spyware etc but I hadn't
noticed Netcruz before.
eTrust has proved effective for me combined with Blackice. A good few
potentially harmful viruses/trojans etc have been identified and stopped. In
the last couple of years nothing has managed to damage my system.
I just like toknow what I'm dealing with.

It seems to come with Kazaa.
Try kazaa-lite for starters.
http://www.kazaalite.tk/

Get KazaaBegone from:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/

Also get
Spybot http://security.kolla.de/

And it wasn't clear to me do you have it on your PC or just got the warning.
Be more specific about what you are mowning about.
I'm not "mowning" or even moaning Karel, just looking for answeres!
