Hi together,

I am sorry, but I have to ask stupid questions:

After I installed the wireless adapter, I can't make a new connection
with the Network Wizard, because there is no option!
Only infrared or parallel or all this nonsense!

I have a XP SP1 wireless network running with 5 machines, but with the W2k
I am stuck.

When I start the ipconfig /all I can see the wireless adapter categorized
under the cable connection!

Please help.

A wireless connection is identical in behaviour to a wired
connection. Infrared and parallel connections (the ones you
choose to call "nonsense") are radically different connections.

Configure your wireless settings (SSID, key) first, then treat
the wireless card like an ordinary network adapter.

You will need to install the Wireless application utility which comes with
wi-fi cards. Windows XP has a generic utility inbuilt so rarely has a
problem. But that is always required for Win2K. In that utility, you will
need to select the SSID and enter the WEP/WPA key.
