ls.,

Up to last friday everything worked perfect. But... for reasons
unkown, the Win2k3 sbs server did restart without any notification.
Can't find any reason for it (and I have read all the messages in the
event logs).

After restarting the wins-server did not restart and refuses to start.
Something about 'not being able to create a socket'. But all clients
are win2k so I don't need wins.

But, the fax service is not working good anymore. It will still send
and receive faxes, but won't send a pop-up message to the sending
machine. Can't even select this option anymore. Only options are no
notification or notification by email.

Does the fax uses wins?? Or is something else wrong here. Why can't I
choose this pop-up notification thing anymore?

If somebody knows how to repear this function, please let me know.

English is not my native language but hope you all understand what I
mean.

greatings,
C. Collette

Fax Service Pop-up messages requires the 'Messenger' service to be running
on both Fax Server & Fax Clients. Verify that this service is up & running
on client & server. If you are still having problems try running the
following command from a server machine.

'net send <client_machine_name> "Test Message"'

where 'client_machine_name' is the machine name of the client to which you
want the message box pop-up notifications.
