on one of the two DC's I get this error trying to run netdiag:

"The procedure entry point DnsGetMaxNumberOfAdrressesToRegister could not be
located in the dynamic link library DNSAPI.dll"

On the other DC I get:

"The procedure entry point DndIsDynamicRegistrationEnabled could not be
located in the dynamic link library DNSAPI.dll"

I attached the DC Diag's from both DC's as well.

Thanks for any and all help...

Scott, does this zone exist in your DNS?
hal9000.portland.local

If so, do the SRV records exist for that zone?

As for the procedure entry point error, apparently it seems there may be a
corruption going on. What specific errors are in your Event viewer?

why would the server DC hal9000 need to be a dns zone?

Typo. I meant portland.local.
