Where can i download the ISO setup file to set up Windows 2000
Professional? My computer crashed recently, and I hope you guys can
help me. I've been searching across the whole internet on my working
computer, but I can't find anything. I got a torrent link, but it
froze at a stinking 99.7%. I was hoping you could help me find a non-
torrent download link that's free that I could use.

jd,

Torrents are going to be about the only resource you're going to find a
Windows OS image. You may find a couple of sites here and there, but I would
trust the torrents more because people can comment on the file that have
downloaded it before you. Thus, giving you an inside look into what you may
face ahead; including problems, tweaks, patches, etc.

Hello (e-mail address removed),

Ask your friends for an installation disk. Use your own key and you are fine.
Trusting any kind of .iso from a not reliable source is the badest option
to choose.

windows 2000 search, so old it it's probably even a legal copy

No, it isn't. Even Win9x and DOS is still subject to copyright restrictions.

also, if you could help, my torrent client always stops at 99.7% on
all torrent downloads. its down speed goes to 0.0k/s. Any way you can
help?

Do you have any links to working torrent downloads that you could
provide?

You really do have a bit of a nerve posting (and re-posting) such a
request in a Microsoft group. If you really must go this route, at least
have the decency (?) to post your request in a torrent forum.

Frankly, you should be able to obtain a legitimate copy of this
(technically obsolete) OS for just a nominal sum on eBay, Craigslist etc
if you put in a little effort.

It's funny; I'll bet that there are thousands of old copies of unused 2k,
just buried in drawers, or serving as coasters, yet try to find
anyone that is inclined to post that they have one for the taking,
anywhere.

I have collected a number of old NT version cast-offs that are unwanted, but
nothing after that.

It seems strange that 2k never seems to show up (at least that I am aware of)
as a throwaway freebie anywhere, since very few use it, anymore.

I'd question the last part of that actually but it's true that if people
perceive their old copies as worthless they may not offer them for sale.

But why wait for one to be offered? Why not be pro-active and put a
want-ad on Cragslist, Kijiji etc?
