I have been setting up a new computer, it has Windows 2000, apparently
Version 5.0 (Build 2195). A friend installed Windows, but I could
have. I have not yet applied upgrades and patches, though will be
doing so soon.
I have installed my modem's software & drivers wth the CD provided. It
is an Actiontec V.92 PCI Pro Modem. This is a WinModem. The modem
dials and connects perfectly. The problem is, it will not disconnect!
If I right click on the modem, and hit disconnect, nothing happens. I
get the same results whether I do so on the icon down by the clock
(forget what that area is called), or if I hit "disconnect" under
modem properties. Apparently, the only way I can disconnect the modem
is to unplug it!
Can anyone provide a solution?
Thanks....
