is there any site where i can get step by step instruction on creating
a network with my 2 computers? my main pc is connected to net on cable
modem via usb.i have installed 2 ethernet cards in each pc and i'm
having trouble from there. i want to share internet and my files and
printer.any help would be great!

I'm in the same boat! Only difference is I'm using DSL
and have both PC's connected to a hub (switch).

Peer to peer networking was no problem with Win 98...
 
On the PC connected to the ISP, turn on ICS on the USB connection interface.
Set the second card to receive IP automatically. On the second PC, set one
card to receive IP automatically. You don't need the other. Connect the
two LAN cards with a crossover cable or through a switch with a regular
cable.
