internet.

the server has got 2 ethernet interface, one connect to internet and one
connect to intranet.

and I just follow this guide to setup vpn server...

then, I cannot even ping the server from internet after the set up.
and with a winxp client connect to it, error 800 result.

May anyone help?

Is the internet interface connected directly to the internet or is it
natted? If you are going through some kind of natting device, you have
to let PPTP through - it uses port 1723 and IP protocol 47 (GRE).

Error 800 is "Unable to establish VPN Connection." and occurs when the
vpn server is un-reachable.

It sounds to me like something is prohibiting the VPN traffic from
reaching the vpn server. Make sure you aren't running any software
firewalls on the server that are filtering that PPTP traffic. Also
make sure there isn't anything filtering traffic between the client and
server, such as a firewall or router.
