Hello all,
Any insight is appreciated.
2 Win2K IP-based intranet geographically separated networks where
workstations of both networks connect to Inet through their respective
router/default gateway connections (as configed on each DC).

I wish to keep this and implement VPN connecting both networks via PTPP (is
this the best option?).

Understanding that there may be router config issues regarding how firewall
and pass-through traffic is handled by each respective router my current
plan:
- install 2nd NIC for each DC
- install VPN server for each network to handle VPN network traffic (from my
understanding I can create a pool of VPN IP addresses that it marshals to
handle traffic so that the clients do not knock each others connection out
while "passing-through" as PTPP can only handle one point to another)

My understanding of what I've read in most places is that either the VPN
server or another server (possibly even the DC) will act as the router.
Since I already have routers in place, can't I make use of them?

Can anyone direct me to a site that deals with this type of setup (I know
that there are a ton of pages that explain VPN setup to varying degrees but
none I've seen touch upon exisiting network config utilizing hardware
routers/gateways)

Thanks

The key point is to open port 1723 on the router/firewall. This is for pptp.
Also, protocol 47 is required - the firewall needs to support that.

Windows should bundle SSL vpn's - much better.

Geophelps.
