WIN2K Installation Hangs at "Configuring Com+.."
My PC was recently infected by Trojan-Spy.HTML.Smithfraud.c. I had Win2k pro installed on it. As my Antivirus program failed to remove it, I decided to reinstall Win2k using the Upgrade option. Now it hangs up when it gets to the stage where it is installing Window 2000 components. It installs components for a few minutes and then hangs up at where it says "Configuring Com+.." I have tried rebooting several times but it always begin with the reinstallation process and freezes at this stage. I have the option of using "Recovery Console" if that can help to resolve this problem. Could anyone please help as how can I solve this problem. Is it still possibe to revert to the previous installation of Win2k, or do I have to reformat the hard drive. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
