I've got a Win2k Std server set up to connect 2 subnets. Both NICs point to
themselves as the default gateway.
NIC1: 98.118.1.210
Gateway: 98.118.1.210
NIC2: 192.1.1.252
Gateway 192.1.1.252
If devices/servers on the 98 segment point to 98.118.1.210, then machines in
the 192 segment can ping and connect to the machines on the 98 segment. The
machines on the 192 segment would have to point to 192.1.1.252 (among
others) to get to the 98 segment.
Now, I'd like to get out thru 98.118.1.1, and if I add that internet gateway
on the 98.118.1.210 NIC, the whole thing falls apart. Should I just add in a
3rd NIC with say 98.118.1.211 and point it to 98.118.1.1 to go out and get
my SUS updates, or can I make do with 2 NICs?
Cheers, and TIA.
