I attempted to apply the Win2K SP4 Express install last
night to my laptop but it has refused to complete. It's
hung up towards the end of the process. All progress bars
on the setup wizard and download dialog are complete but
all buttons are disabled so I can't end the installation
process in the normal way. The last message from the
setup wizard says "Running processes after Install".
Currently the computer works just fine. I fear that
rebooting at this point may corrupt the O/S. Of course, I
did not follow instructions to back up the registry, etc.
before beginning the installation.
Does anyone know what I can do to safely quit the
Installation and at least restore my computer to it's
previous state? Or am I hosed?
Thanks,
John
