Win2K SP1 to SP4 udgrade messes up NIC

After upgrading Win2k Pro from SP1 to SP4, need to reboot
with cable modem disconnected, and then reconnect when
boot complete in order to get proper functionality. New
NIC driver does not fix. ideas ?
 
Got 2 nics? Check bindingorder in Network Connections, advanced, advanced.
Internal nic should be on top.

Which netcard is it? Do you see anything relevant in event log?

Win2000 has no "advanced, advanced" and no binding order settable by user,
as it used to be once in NT4. Get a life.
