I have a client who is using a Windows 2000 server
machine as a workstation as well. (I know, not the best
and I've warned them but they still do it) On occasion
the server cannot access the Internet. It can still see
and be seen by any LAN host and the router, but I cannot
even ping by IP address any Internet host. They are
currently on a 192.168.x.x LAN, and the router does all
the translation. It usually takes several reboots for
the server to be able to see the Internet again. Does
anybody have any suggestions as to what is happening?
Oh, also it only has SP2 on it at the moment, with low
disk space on the C drive. I am working on finding items
to move from the C drive to the D drive so I can install
SP4. Anyway, any suggestions would be welcome. Either
here or at tvielkanowitz (at) shared-resources (dot) net
