My Win2K system (P4) automatically restarts before boot
up is complete. When I start the machine, before boot-up
is completed, BSOD flashes for a second and the system
restarts the process. Since I am not able to boot in any
of the modes (Safe mode, debugging, last known
config,...), there is no way for me to look into the
Event Viewer to know what is causing the blue screen.
1. Is there some way to freeze the Blue screen and read
the message so that I can look for a fix.
2. I have tried going into Recovery console to copy the
SysEvent.evt file, but I cannot copy the file onto a
floppy because Local Security Policy is not set to do so.
3. In recovery console, I have tried to change boot.ini
to not do /fastdetect, but that is no help.
Is there any way to get to the error message (e.g., press
some key to freeze BSOD on boot failure, or from recovery
console) without having to delete SAM/Security registry
key.
Help please
