Help!!!
Win2k Pro SP4 INCORRECTLY detects Creative Labs CDRW 8432X
as CDRW 8438E. Running Nero Burning, the unit is supposed
to burn up to Write once 8x ?? & Write Many 4x.???..But
Nero says it fails at 2x.
I've exhausted my search for a fix on this BUG thru
Creative's /Microsoft's and Ahead's websites. Ahead/Nero
says Win2K has all the built in drivers, but have not
found any fixes for this problem in Microsoft's site
either. I've even updated Nero Burning from v5.0 -to-
v5.5.0 software. Nothing!! Used to run a dual boot with
Win2K and Win98SE. Under Win98, the unit did read CDs and
seemd to burn OK with single session media. But, I have
NOT been able to burn MULTISPEED 4-12x Phillips CD-RW74 re-
writable media!! I've also "removed" the CDROM using the
Hardware Wizard and reloaded it, but the burner remains
detected as the WRONG model: CDRW 8438E by Win2K. I'm not
100% sure if that is the problem....or perhaps I'm using
the WRONG media??? What gives????
I've also downloaded another driver, unfortunately it was
written for Win95/98 and Win2K does not recognize it.
Anyone?? Please Help,
Thank You,
Gus
