Win2k pro sound driver?

Iv had win2kpro on my hp8660c before and had no problems.
But yesterday i reinstalled and now when i go to play an
audio file it says:

DirectSound output v2.2.6 error
Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or
select another device in configuration.
Error code: 88780078

Iv tryed Windows Update, HP homepage and win2k disk, none
have the driver. Dont know what to do. PLEASE HELP IF CAN,
thank you.

Forgot to mention, read on the web that it is a modem/soundcard combo and
the W2K modem drivers from the HP website will probably work.
