Hallo,
i ran onto a dead end..
i want to connect to my server using dialup and use its dsl connection

this is the situtiuon:

win2k width 2 NIC : 1 for lan (192.168.0.1) and 1 for dsl modem
remote access enabled (accept incoming connection)

using a remote pc (win2k)i can dialup and login to the system and
receive a 192.168.0.x IP

i can ping 192.168.0.1 but can't ping anything on the internet
tunnelled by the server.
i even installed a proxy server but IE seems using it only if using
lan, not if using a dial-up connection.
the dialup connection to the server has flagged "use default gateawy
on remote network"

it seems so simple but i get stuck ...
any help is *very* appreciaated

tnx in advance !

have you enable ip routing? this may help. quoted from

How to enable ip routing/forwarding on Win2k

Depending on your OS, you may have two options. 1) If you have w2k server,
Install Routing and Remote Access. 2) If you are running w2k/xp pro, set
IPEnableRouter=0x01 in the registry
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP\Parameters. Note: the default
value is 0.

To use a proxy server, you need to put the proxy settings in the
connection properties. Proxy settings are connection specific.

Go to Internet Options (from Control Panel or IE) and to the Connections
tab. Select your dialup connection and click settings. Put the proxy address
in there.
