I have a network with 4 PCs on it. All machines are hard cabled to the
router. Three are Win2K and one is 98SE. I'm having great difficulty making
it so we can talk to each other, i.e., printer and file sharing. Some work
and some don't. I have setup all Win2K PCs the same, giving each user
Administrator authority and absolutely NO PASSWORDS. One 2K machine cannot
be accessed at all and the others ask for a password when I try to access
them. My 2K machine works closely with the 98SE machine. I can get to those
files but that machine can't get to mine without a password. Again, I have
no passwords set, at least not that I'm aware of.
When you look at Network Neighborhood on the 98SE machine, it only shows my
2K machine in the list. The other two are not even listed and I KNOW they
are in the correct workgroup, i.e., HOME.
I'm just frustrated because I've tried so many different things to correct
the problem. Anything that anyone can enlighten me on would be greatly
appreciated.
