Win2K Pro Activation ID

The system crashed and I started from scratch but could not load Win2k Pro.
When I enter the activation code, the group of 5 alpha/numerics that I
recorded for the CD, it rejects that info and again requests the activation
code. I wrote the alpha/numbers on the Win2k Pro CD when I first installed
it so I am fairly certain they are correct. I do not have the original
folder the CD was shipped to me in. Is there a method to verify/find the
activation code from the CD?
 
If it is OEM, the code will be in the manual. If it is retail, call
Microsoft. Check your 8s and make sure they aren't Bs, etc.
