I have the problem described in KB article 266668, "Add/Remove Programs tool
displays installed programs incorrectly." The described fix requires that I
run Winnt32.exe from the Win2k installation CD. When I try, I'm prompted for
the CD key. When I enter the key, I get "The CD Key which you entered is
invalid. Please try again."
I get this no matter what key I enter, and no matter which CD I use. I've
used the original CD that came with the Dell Optiplex and CDs borrowed from
other people, but no success. I've double-checked the obvious stuff (zeros
vs. "O"s, etc.), used the CD key that Win2k says it's using, and used the CD
key printed on the CD case, but still I get the message that the key is
invalid.
Any fix short of re-imaging the machine?
Thanks.
