Ive recently noticed that my icons seem to be displaying in
what looks like 256 color mode. Programs run as if they
were in 32bit color, and everything else works fine.

Ive changed my color depth back and forth, reset the Icon
Cache file, and rebooted more times than I like to think?

Any further optiosn anyone can think of?

try looking in netmeeting ... I once had a users laptop that
exhibited the same issues and there was a setting in netmeeting
that they'd invoked by opening the program out of curiosity.

Sorry not more specific (as I'm "on the move") but it is in
netmeeting
