I just set up Win2K on a 1.5 GHz/256 MB station at a home
site. Currently they only have dial-up ISP. I applied
SP4. I can dial-up and have Internet access for about 5
minutes and then nothing will resolve. I can't even ping
static IP addresses. I disabled the internal NIC since
it's not being used for anything at the moment. There is
only one adapter now so Binding Order under Advanced
Settings can't be changed. Any suggestions on why the
TCP/IP flow stops responding? Thanks.

a) check out your event logs. start-run--> eventvwr
b) I have ran into horrible dial-up ISP's in my time
c) some ISP's don't scale their modem's correctly
