Dear All,

I have a Win2k domain. All my workstations are windows 2000. Today I joined
a WinXP machine to the network. Everything is working fine. However when I
try to browse to the WinXP using My Network Place I get the following error
"The account is not authorized to log in from this station". It is necessary
for me to browse to this machine from the server, as Sophos depends on net
browsing to deploy to my clients.

Please can someone advise me on how to resolve this issue?

Many Thanks,

John Barwell

Check the user right for access this computer from the network in Local Security
Policy on the XP Pro domain computer to see if it includes the proper groups -
usually at least users and administrators and that the deny accessing this computer
from the network does not have an overriding setting. You may also want to check the
security option for "network access sharing and security" to make sure it is set to
"classic". Make sure it points to only the domain controller as it's preferred dns
server in tcp/ip settings and that the built in ICF firewall is disabled.--- Steve
