I can't get the right setup with multiple monitors on my
HP Omnibook Xe3 GF. Whenever I try to apply the modified
settings, the sistem will reboot abruptly. Of course when
the sistem has terminatede the reboot sequence, the
settings are not updated to the last setup. If i try to
use the default settings, the default laptop monitors
works as usual, while the secondary monitor does not. If
both devices are selected, the sistem will reboot once
again. Will someone please help me? I think that the
hardware is well installed and supported, but now I'm
starting to have some doubts....Thanks in advance.

Hi Roberto,
To use multi-mon in Windows 2000, you need a separate PCI or AGP display
adapter for each monitor. Your laptop almost certainly only has one adapter,
so true multi-mon support will probably not be available.

If you have a docking station, you might be able to install two adapters in
the docking station itself, and use multi-mon when the laptop is docked.
Check with the hardware manufacturer to find out if this is possible.

"Dual View" is a slightly different feature, allowing use of multiple
monitors, but each monitor will show the same view. Some things you may want
to try to enable Dual View to work properly:
- Be sure you have the latest BIOS installed
- Verify BIOS settings related to the display are appropriately set
- Check with the laptop manufacturer to determine if there's any special
utility or configuration required
