I'm preparing a fresh install of Win2000 (WinXP has too much bloat for the target CPU) &
I've got some Win2K questions:

With Win98SE & FAT32, I saw some performance improvement by putting all my data files on
a separate partition , a "data drive" - Windows 98SE and all my programs are on C:, and
all my data files (ppt, .doc, .jpg, .txt etc) are on D:.

1) Is there any performance or system advantage to doing this (a data drive) on Windows
2000? (I want to use NTFS all the way)
2) Can I rename "My Documents" to something else? How can I do that?

Thanks to anyone that can help!!!

Bill

The advantage is more a manageability issue than performance. Don't make the
windows partition too small. 10-15 gB if you have the space.

You can right-click and choose 'Rename'

What about partitioning windows to 4.4gb so you can image it to a dvd?

JPC

Thanks, Dave!

If I increase the size of the partition so it is bigger than 4.7 GB on
a DVD will Norton's Ghost prompt me for additional disks?

Thanks Dave. One more quick question. I notice now that I when I
retrieve new posts using this same agent news reader that I used on my
old computer, it takes longer to retrieve the list of available posts.
It then retrieves the posts themselves quickly. I don't remember my
other computer taking so long to retrieve the lists. Should I change
some settings under the options/preferences menu?
