My office network manager is trying to promote a server running Win2K (it's
already a member server) onto our domain as a DC. We go through all the
steps, and use the administrator's password, but then Windows comes back
saying something along the lines of "This is not allowed on Small Business
Server". Now, I wasn't here when the upgraded the servers from WinNT Server
to Win2K Advanced Server, so I don't know if they used the SBS discs or not,
but I do know that the server we are trying to promote has had Windows 2000
Advanced Server installed on it since the beginning.
Does anyone know what could be causing this to happen? I have asked if all
the server were installed with the same disc/license and have been told that
all the servers (all three of them) were setup using different copies of
Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
Thanks in advance for any help.
