Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any idea what I can look for for log files, text files,
etc, that I can remove from my C: partition on a Win2k Server (Active
Directory/Domain Controller)?

I've got a full C: drive...damnit, that happens to much...

Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening? I hate it when it happens
on the PDC.

Obviously you could rebuild the server with a bigger
system partition (C:\drive). Until then, move the
Pagefile.sys to another drive. It's changed in the System
Properties, on the Advanced tab, click on the Performance
Options Tab, then on the button that says "Change". You
may get an error message when you try to move it. Just
remember, if your C: drive gets too full, your server will
quit.

Hi Chris,

The pagefile.sys file is already on another partition (E:). Our C: is 4gig.

I managed to free up about 100 meg, but I dont' think that's going to last
long.

I MUST be missing something...

Did you run Disk Cleanup (Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk
Cleanup)? That might identify some space that you can reclaim.

Hi there,

I found the problem...it was a .TMP folder under DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS,
under ALL USERS, under SYMANTEC...292 meg. Yipes.

According to the Symantec website, it's a temporary folder that sometimes
doens't delete itself when it's done, like it should, and it can be safely
deleted.

Thankfully, I find out! Thank-you TreeSize Pro!

Whenever I have this kind of problem, I pull out BulletProof
FolderSizes - it tells me (almost instantly) whtat's consuming the
drive space. http://www.foldersizes.com/

turn on Disk Quote for drive C:
this will prevent you from filling it up. Also you may need to upgrade your
HD to a larger one
