My dads company laptop was not connecting to the
internet so I went to Network Connections. I then right
clicked "Local Area Connection", clicked properties, then
I dont remember if I clicked on a tab or properties of
something but, there was a window and in the lower half
it had 2 bullets on the left side to choose something
looked like
_[]x
-----------------------------------------
cant remember what was here
-----------------------------------------
() text here
box here that had WIN typed in it

() text here
box here that I typed MSHOME into
is incorrect and that I should check to see my user name
and domain are correct and then type my password and try
again. The problem with changing domain is, I dont think
I can from log on screen.
I tried logging on as Administrator and set a password
in BIOS(that is how its done correct?) but that didnt
work either .
Help before he goes to work today at 10 AM would be appreciated greatly

Thank You,

Did you look to see if you are logging in to the local
machine or to a domain when you got the error message?
Also, without remembering exactly what you changed how
can anyone help you. Your diagrams give me no clue.
Then when I read you logged in as administrator and
changed the password in the Bios I start thinking that
you should have never touched the laptop in the first
place. The bios runs when you first turn on the laptop
and has nothing to do with logging into windows.
If you can log on to windows with the local
administrator's account then you need to find a tech at
your dad's company and ask them for their help.

you are in a heap of trouble boy... your dad will have to go to his IT
people and beg them to put the machine back on the corporate network again
so he can do his work. nothing you can do to fix it there.
