I'm having difficulty file sharing over a 802.11b
network.
My configuration:
I have a home desktop running Windows XP connected to a
Linksys Access Point Router via ethernet
I have a laptop running Windows 2000 with a built-in
802.11b card

My trouble:
when I try to copy a file from the Windows 2000 laptop TO
the Windows XP harddrive (after mapping the network drives
successfully) I get the following error:

"Cannot copy [filename]: Access is denied. The Source
file may be in use."

What works:
The reverse copy (from the Windows XP computer TO the
Windows 2000 laptop) works correctly.
I have enabled file and printer sharing on both machines.
I have enabled sharing on the folders of relevance.

Any help?
Thanks
Guy

What destination location?
What file (is it in use)?
How about another file, or to another location?
How about permissions? Especially on the destination?
Permissions on the destination directory AND on the share?
Which account do you use to authenticate to the (failing) machine?

Try using the command line to get more direct feedback and
so you can easily copy and paste the results for posting here...

I've tried multiple destinations and multiple files. The
file is not in use - I've tried lots of different files.
I'm using an administrator account so permissions should
be fine.
How do I use the command line? I'm not familiar with that?
Guy
